Sarah Alarabi, DO

Dr.  Sarah Alarabi was born in Atlanta, Georgia, and raised in Libya, Ireland, Ohio, and Kansas City.  She completed her undergraduate degree at Avila College in Kansas City, Missouri, with a bachelor of science in Premedicine.  She attended Kansas City University of Medicine and Biosciences to earn her degree in Osteopathic Medicine.  Dr Alarabi then spent three years in general surgery residency in Michigan and New York until she found her ultimate passion to be in family medicine.  Dr Alarabi completed her family medicine residency at Southampton Hospital in New York.  After completing residency and board certification in family medicine, she moved to Sacramento and practiced family medicine for Sutter Medical Group at the Jackson location for seven years.  Dr Alarabi’s office in Jackson was voted the best medical office in Amador County for five years.  During this time, she met her husband in Sacramento and they have two young children together.

Dr Alarabi speaks Arabic and English.  She is experienced in a variety of minor office procedures which include steroid injections for carpal tunnel, trigger finger, and knee pain.  She is also adept at performing biopsies for skin lesions and removing them when necessary.  She is also experienced in managing chronic medical conditions such as diabetes, hypertension, high cholesterol, hypothyroidism, asthma, COPD, in addition to a variety of other problems.  Her approach to patient care is unique in that she prefers to meet with them in her personal office in order to create a less intimidating environment.  She will see patients in the traditional patient room when an exam calls for it or if the patient requests it.  Her style of practice is personal and tailored to the individual patient’s needs.  She believes that if you create a comfortable enough environment for the patient, it allows for more open communication which leads to more effective medical treatment and much happier outcomes.  Dr Alarabi considers caring for patients to be an honour and is committed to treating each patient with respect and compassion.
